Yeah, let's post 5-6 different languages per sign.

I don't mind private sectors like bank posts more than 1 language sign. They want to make $$$.
Public sector, it costs us tax $$.

Hate to be a debbie downer on your whole "USA no official language" theory, but that's entirely false. While there is no "official" law or document that states English as our official language- our Declaration, Constitution, Bill of Rights, Laws, public addresses by congress and POTUS, 99% of street signs, and most importantly our language spoken at UN, NATO, and G# Summits are all in what language? English. It is spoken by the vast and overwhelming majority in this nation, American English is an officially and globally recognized dialect (hence why I just used recognized instead of recognised), it is, for all intents and purposes the official language of these United States of America. Carry on.

You invalidated your entire post with your second sentence. Face palm.

De facto does not equal de jure.

Although, I still agree that English should be spoken.

And in order to get your citizenship (minus a few exceptions) you have to speak and read English--enough to pass the citizenship text.

I can attest to that, I see more ads in spanish where I live than in english. I was just in Sams the other day getting my new pair of glasses, and when I walked up to the counter, there was no one to be found, but a hispanic lady was sitting there. I asked her if there was someone helping her, or if she was just sitting and resting. She said a bunch of crazy shit super fast in spanish like she was yelling at me (if we were on the phone, I would have SWORN she was yelling at me, but her facial expression was of confusion). Then came out the "no inglis". The optical dept had to go find someone else in the store who spoke spanish because she didn't.

It would seriously be easier for me to learn spanish than to try and get by speaking english at times, which let me tell you, pisses me the hell off.

I believe the NM Constitution and state laws are written in both English and Spanish. There are also provisions for bilingual education.
