Jesus Outback, I hope things go ok for you, we worked Hodgen road for several hours before being forced to retreat, they have a 6 lane high way cut through there and the fire didn't even slow down, Thoughts and Prayers.
2200 I got home, We stage at 0900 tomorrow, no idea where we are headed yet though, day three on fires for our team....
Don't follow me you won't MAKE IT!
Thanks to you too LippCJ and all of your folks!
Beyond the sadness of seeing our backyard burn/naturalizing, I can't imagine the exhaustion level it after three days. Any real ideas on what your teams need "quick" response? I know locally, Care & Share and others are overrun with COSTCO water, vita-drinks, and similar soccer mom drop-offs... Basically now asking for frontline suggestions my wife/granny could spend in line to "help".
Stay safe ALL and Godspeed!

(IMHO, unless you can be hands on/direct help, send $ to Red Cross and Care & Share for now... Your $ go WAY further!)
ETA: THIS Doesn't include the folks we're storing stuff for or whatever... FRIENDS don't let FRIENDS park their "bug out vehicles and possessions" outside or in parking lots.!!!

I would say water and quick energy stuff like power, cliff, odwalla, nutrigrain, snickers, payday bars and coffee for the dispatchers.
ETA oranges, apples and bananas

Following the liberals mentality, they should just pass legislation banning forest/wild fires. That will solve these problems.
We are just north and east of the pre-evac and mandatory evac zones here in Woodmoor. Have some friends staying with us that were evacuated yesterday.
God willing, we will be ok here but have the vehicles mostly packed and the rest of our thigns staged to be loaded.
Be safe. Fires are nothing to mess with.

Back in the summers of '80 & '81 I worked for the Montana Dept. of State Lands, mostly thinning timber but also fighting fires.
Tough job and I have great appreciation and respect for those that are out there working this fire.
All of you fighting these fires, on the ground and in the air, God be with you. Stay safe. Thank you.

Evacuating our home office now, inlaws are staging to get out. Thank you to all who are putting boot to fire on this, please let us know what you need!

Fighting wildfires is very hard work, can't say enough good things for those in the air and on the ground trying to stop the fires. I think after last year, the locals are reaching out to repay a favor to those displaced by the current fires. Lets hope the weather starts to cooperate soon, and the winds don't start whipping out of the east.
