I am as straight laced as they come. I have been as far to the right as you can get. I have never seen an illegal drug let alone used any. I barely have ever drank in my life. I have never smoked, chewed etc. (or go with girls who do).

BUT, my eyes have been opened to the fact that freedom and liberty can be lost. And lost by sticking our noses in everyones business, by legislating morality, by legislating away things that we dont like or agree with. Freedom means making choices for yourself. As long as your choices dont negatively impact others, there should not be a law against it. We need less laws. We need more freedom. Just because you are super religious doesnt mean you can take away somebody elses choices. If we keep legislating away everything that we dont agree with, eventually we wont have any freedom. The conservatives will legislate away everything they want to go away, the liberals will legislate away everything else. There will be nothing left for us Freedom loving People to do. Everything will be illegal.

Its sad that there are some amongst us who still think they have the right to push their beliefs on everyone else.
holy fuck yes x 1,000,000,000. Nannies here who want to stick it to potheads are as bad as liberals sticking it to gun owners.

Boom, about 60% of her cancer treatment related problems were gone IMMEDIATELY. The rest gradually went away until it was about as good as it could get with hardcore radiation treatment. No more nausea, no more loss of appetite, and the pain was substantially less. Besides her daughter, she had no other reason to live before she had a completely different doc recommend pot. I would say it saved her life, and it's a medicine that works. Fuck the FDA, DEA, and congress for putting it down as a Schedule I narcotic (meaning "No medical benefits/use"), they also, in doing that, make it seem like it is as bad as cocaine and heroin.
While I agree with what you say regarding this drug I would argue that we need to legalize ALL drugs. For starters, who is the government to decide what should be considered medically beneficial or not? I would argue that if someone is terminal and is in pain or wants to escape the reality of their life who are we to say they can't do heroine or meth? Sure, you or I may not see how it could possibly benefit someone and may not use it ourselves but we live in the USA man. If you can't get high here where can you get high? Lastly, making one substance illegal means that people will find other means to get high so what's the point? I actually overheard a conversation that other day where someone was absolutely livid because you could still buy bath salts in stores. Yeah, no shit. You can buy bleach and rat poison too... doesn't mean you should ingest it in any form idiots. No reason we should ALL have to suffer because a few can't handle their crack. In the end, the war on drugs is a lost cause and we're all worse off for it.
