Bit of a shameless plug (not like I profit from it), but I run a website called ColoradoFireMaps.com in my spare time. There's supposed to be an IR (infrared) flight over the Black Forest Fire tonight, which means we should get a much better picture of the fire's perimeter & size. I usually get the perimeters up on the site by about 10am or so, depending on when the data is released.

Hopefully the maps help someone out - tomorrow will be an interesting day; winds are supposed to be lower than today, and MAFFS should be coming on board to the Black Forest Fire tomorrow morning sometime. Fingers crossed that they can help turn the tide.

I have two spare bedrooms, a 14' cargo trailer, two pickups and my shop crew. If one of you needs us, we can be there in 2-3 hours. I also have a lot of experience in fire mitigation, all hard won from last year. If you need defensible space, I've got a saw that eats trees and manpower to make it happen.

PM me or Email directly at timkulinstudios@aol.com. If you're in the path but not yet at risk and want to know you have some backup, I'll give you my cell number so you can get us instantly.

    I hate fucking fire.

    Proud of my son.

I'm going to simplify this a bit, but essentially this is what happened.

Background: Last month he got state certified as an EMT. He can't work as an EMT in CO until he's Nationally Certified. He can't take the exam to get Nationally Certified until his fingerprints are processed through the FBI who is backlogged months; still waiting for this to complete. He currently works at Sam's Club but has recently been looking to get on at the (ironically) Black Forest Fire Dept. (BFFD) once he gets Nationally Certified.

Today: Sam's Club gets a call from the Black Forest Fire Dept. (who are Sam's members) asking for food/drink donations. My son gets wind of this, encourages Management & offers to drive the supplies to the Fire Dept. (FD). It's the end of his shift anyway. Managers are impressed since they didn't know who they'd get to deliver the supplies. Sam's loads up the back of my sons Durango with water, Gatorade, granola bars, etc. Son drives to the Black Forest fire Command Center (allowed through the blockades since he's delivering supplies). He's re-directed to the FD - driving on Shoup Rd past the fire. Gets to the FD, meets the BFFD Chiefs wife, unloads the supplies. He volunteers to help. Chief's wife introduces my son to the Chief and when the Chief hears of his almost-EMT status he hooks him up to assist AMR doing everything short of actual EMT work. He aided an elderly man with oxygen and got him into a transport to the New Life Church evac center. He assisted with refilling O2 bottles, etc. until there was really nothing left to do with AMR. He then helped group & stage supplies that were to be delivered out to the front-line Firefighters. With nothing left to do & not wanting to overstay his visit, he decided to leave. Before he left, the Chief ensured my son had a BFFD application. The kid took initiative & helped where it was needed & it might pay off for him. He also got some great pictures of the fire (some while he was driving - bad boy!).

    Default Counting noses- 2013 fires

Just got to a Hampton. House is just outside the forest so I'm not really worried, but you never know. Eyes are killing me from all the smoke.

Parallel threads but this is about helping folks, family and friends.

Willing to help this effort anyway we can supplement.. Temp storage, sleeping bag/floor space or whatever as needed. REGARDLESS, we can also always find room and RESPITE as needed.

Yeah, we're kind of full but let's pray/hope this now official "Black Forest Fire" lays down tomorrow!
