Default Boulder County Starts Frire Bans

Hope this slows the campers/rainbows/transients and their campfires.

Well I guess I'm not surprised. Just sucks for the big camping trip a group of us have planned for 6/28-30. It looks like we'll have to look for a spot west of peak to peak instead of Johnny Park Road.

Nice, fire ban means gun ban. We scheduled our "Guy trip" one month earlier this year, to avoid the ban that affected us last year. My luck Worthlesslooper jumps on the band wagon and shuts the whole state down just in time for our trip next weekend!

Here is an interactive map of Colorado counties with current fire restrictions. My favorite spot is unfortunately under fire ban.

Check the actual fire ban text of the county you will be in. Some allow for fires under certain circumstances still. My favorite spot has a "ban" but exemptions if you keep it to less than 3 feet across and 2 feet high, more than 30ft from any vegetation AND have extinguishing materials on hand (extinguishers, ample water or prepared loose dirt listed as acceptable).

Understood. Last year in our particular area we could not even have a camp stove, not to mention shooting. Even cigs (for the guy's who smoked) were banned. Thank god for pellet guns, helium, and a shit load of balloons..

Dry ice and a couple cases of bottled water helps pass the time camping with a fire ban.
