WESTMINSTER - There has been a large house explosion in the 9200 block of Ingalls Street around noon.
It is suspected to be caused by natural gas.
There is heavy damage to four homes in the area.

Reminds me of SimCity, when the local gov't goes to shit, houses, buildings start exploding and catching on fire..

I am pretty sure I heard this in Erie! Heard a big boom around this time and thought it was the neighbors landscaping crew with their bobcat bucket or dump truck, but they were not there. I suppose with the right weather conditions ( clouds and wind) it is not inconceivable that this is what I actually heard......

I live in this neighborhood. It happened 2 blocks from my house. Reports are saying that it was caused by natural gas. Xcel has been there all day, and I talked to some people who live close to this house (a guy who had his windows blown out, on the backside of the culdesac, and a couple others) and they mentioned that several people called Xcel this morning b/c they smelled gas. Apparently Xcel wasn't quick enough. I was in my garage at the time of the explosion. I thought the garage door/garage itself was coming down on top of me. I ran out with my head down, and my heart racing. A couple neighbors came running out and we all were asking each other "wtf was that?!" when we looked over & saw smoke, dust & shrapnel in the air at least 75ft high. I was about to run in & check on my wife when I looked over & became distracted by the aftermath. I was thinking it was another sonic boom or something. There is nothing but a pile of rubble left & around 6 or 7 houses heavily damaged.
