It's the cane that you have to watch out for... he's getting real good at it too.. leaned back in the suburban - set the bluetooth to his flip phone, changing xm channel with his cane flawlessly. I swear it was like that thing is part of him. Like a gun totting pinocchio w/ NY accent.

I would think directv's insurance would cover the collective loss, if they try to stick it to the individual consumers that would be a fantastic way of forever losing their business and anyone making that call should be fired for business strategy stupidity.

If they have insurance that covers it, every customer is paying the price of that insurance that is built into the price of the contract. By telling the guy to pay it, then he is only paying his own insurance to cover it, rather than paying to have the same thing insured twice. I don't know that they have insurance on the units.
