Actually, I like the idea as long as you reinforce the sides and just stick it in a corner of the garage. Anyone looking at it with no lights on or anything will assume it's just another fixer-upper project collecting dust (especially if you leave the weathering alone). B&E guys probably wouldn't give it a second look as long as you don't show any signs of frequent use and no one sees you opening it.

Update: I bought some 1/2" durock and wrapped it in indoor/outdoor carpet. Glued it to the walls with liquid nails and installed some lights, and two racks. I'm going to figure out a some sort of shelving for the right side, but all together I'm pretty impressed with how it turned out for now.

So you're making it a handgun safe.

FWIW: I know where there's a commercial 9' tall cooler i can get for cheap. IF it could be made to work i was going to keep it as a meat locker, if not turn it in to a Powder coating oven. NOW with this post reappearing, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It will be for both rifles and handguns, once I figure out shelving for the right side, I planned on installing another rifle rack. I think the Comm. fridge would be a great idea but does it lock? I know where there's another coke machine if you're interested Jim.

I don't have any room in the shop now. Not used as storage for extra shit or have any vehicles in it. Just tools and other items of use.

I kinda think it's a slick idea. You know, hide shit in plain sight?

Bitch is...now I'll know someone might be using an old pop machine to hide cool shit in.

Not really worried about it, unless you're a thief and you know where I live Haha

I plan on getting some concrete anchors and bolting it down to the floor in the garage, it won't go anywhere
