i am fully in support of sharing the road taxes with bicyclists.
I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do."
I have little respect for cyclists as they are always hogging the road and pay little attention to the rules that are also applicable to them in terms of road use.
What really used to grind my gears though was when I was out running and they’d ride by me with little to no passing room and making as little noise as possible so they scare the crap out of me and my GSD. Maybe I should’ve let my GSD off leash to see how fast they can go?
One of the many pluses of my new home here in Maine is few cyclists. Also while I’m at it:
Few liberals
Few Prius’
Pro-gun
5% sales tax
A lot faster than a GSD for a lot longer. $0.02
I completely hear what you are saying (I run a lot as well), but I stopped making noise when I'm on my bike in most cases.
I hate to make generalities, but my experience has been most walkers, hikers, runners are all pre-occupied up with each other, their dogs, and worst - their phones and iPods to hear you anyway. Then they act surprised when you've been trying to get their attention for 1/4 of a block. I don't yell anymore either. In my case, even out on 20 mile runs, I never listen to music or anything - and I've been surprised by cyclists and cars. You're out in the zone (or more likely a box of hurt) breathing like a bellows. It isn't their fault or yours and if you act predictably nothing bad will happen in 99.99% of cases.
Hey Lebowski, as a cyclist, do you take issue with anything I said in post #25?

Bicycles are not vehicles they fall under bicycle rules. I watched a guy get a ticket in the hospital after being hit by a car because he didn't yield the lane like he was supposed to.
Vehicles cannot share lanes but bicycles must in this state
This reminds of other "vehicles" on the road.
I have seen this person many times, mainly Sheridan heading north 92nd to 112th. An older hag pushing close to 300 lbs on an old VESPA cruiser. She apparently insists she can ride on streets with 45-50mph speed limits such as Sheridan, north Federal/120th. She is always causing traffic to back up badly. As you pass her she is rapping the VESPA as high as she can get it barely going 30mph.
Anyone in the north end of metro see this gal? I see her once a week on average in this area and on Federal/287 section.
Saw her pulled over once by a Westminster LEO. Next time I saw her she had a "blinking yellow" on. Apparently this made her slow lard ass legal.![]()

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"
My feedback
Scooters fall under motorized bicycles and are not legal to be in zones above 35mph
