This has to be incarnation #4 of this subject. Enough of this, go out and ride your bike like mom said to.![]()

The driver shouldn't have to wait a few seconds for the bicyclist. It used to be against the law to impede traffic. Like most laws...I doubt it has been removed from the books.
Driving downtown Denver I often have to watch when driving thru an intersection because I have had a number of bicyclists run a blatently red light.
Driving Boulder country I have seen 2 wide, 3 wide, 4 wide, and even 5 wide riding down a 2 lane road thus leaving one side with NO lane to use.
Bicyclists are a MENICE to drivers.
If you want peace, prepare for war.
I have almost nailed a few bicyclists who blaze right through a red light as I am turning from say 18th onto Curtis and they have the red light on Curtis,
yet feel it is 100% acceptbale for them to run a red light and almost wreck into me and then flip me off and hollar at me etc.
I have wanted to many time get out and stomp the dogshit out of them, but my ability to work from jail isnt a solid idea for long term career outlook![]()

I didn't know we were allowed to throw "gay" around like that on this forum? I know you meant gay as in dumb or stupid but I figured a mod would squash a title like that. Despite my forum given nickname I am actually not gay.I'm glad to see this place hasn't gone full libtard, politically correct, and hippy.....yet anyway.
OK, let's more fully develop this idea, because I personally think it is absurd, and I don't think you've thought it through b/c it can easily be turned against you. $0.02
You have more right to the road than I do, b/c what you are in at the time has more registration and taxes associated with it when you are in a car and I'm on a bike.
Paying registration and taxes trumps not paying taxes and registration.
It therefore stands to reason that paying MORE registration and MORE taxes trump paying LESS registration and LESS taxes.
Do you yield to the nicer car? What about a commercial semi tractor trailer? Ever listen to them on CB19? They think of you the way you think of cyclists - little pests jamming up the road, driving terribly, and they certainly have higher fees, taxes, etc.
By extension - let's say it is a typical Friday evening in Winter and let's say an acquaintance invites me to go skiing in Vail. We'll take his new AMG G-wagen. He almost certainly pays more in registration and taxes than 95% of cars on the road. So, when traffic clogs all up near Ike, we should be able to yell, "HEAR YE! HEAR YE!!! I DEMAND YE UNWASHED MASSES OF THE LOWER CLASSES ALL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD YIELDING TO MY SUPERIOR REGISTRATION AND TAXES FOR YOU ARE IMPEDING MY TRANSPORTATION!!!"
Of course not. That's not how society works.
Incidentally, I'm not butt-hurt at all about this. Quite the opposite. I already have a diesel truck, and I get to ride all these roads without issue, and I'm totally at peace with how the system works. I've never gotten a ticket on my bike, and the folks who yell tend to make most of us laugh. I'm not starting threads complaining about drivers or cars or whatever. I've come in here to offer their perspective on why.![]()

You seriously don't have a few seconds to wait for a cyclist?
Is it that your time is just so much more valuable than everyone else?
How do you cope with wildlife on the road or minor traffic accidents?
I'm thankful I don't have that kind of stress in my life.
And these would be illegal. There isn't an excuse for it.
I'm not sure I'd call it a "menice" but I guess I have more patience for that sort of thing.
That was real asshole thing to do to those people. No reason for that at all, typical move by an Obama lover mentality, messing with people because you can. The guy driving the truck is a true jerk off.

I shouldn't have to wait for a cyclist...they shouldn't be on the road to begin with. The roads were built for CARS to drive on. Not for bicyclists. Not for someone to set up a tent and camp on. Not for joggers. For autos to travel from one place to another.
Not a menace? It *might* be one thing if they were following the laws. It is a complete other thing when they have the attitude that they have a RIGHT to run red lights. A RIGHT to run stop signs. A RIGHT to cut in and out of traffic. A RIGHT to block all the lanes on one side of the road. These are all a menace to other drivers. It threatens lives and peoples health. That most certainly is a menace.
When I was a child you were taught to ride on the sidewalks. To stop and get off your bike and walk it across intersections...after looking both ways and according to the cross signals if they are present. SO...it irritates me when people act like what is going on is how it has always been. They didn't used to allow people to act like they are now. Bicyclists had taken on this liberal mindset that their RIGHT to the road trumpts the right of autos.
