Didn't like the Fiber Optic Front Sight on the Competition models- found it distracting. (I know you are supposed to focus on the front site- but lost situational awareness) For close range combat shooting it might be a plus though... but the Comp guns are the largest/longest and probably not going to be anybody's CCW or duty weapon with a 5.25" barrel. It seems more like a race gun design.... hence the competition designation
Last note- although the guns can be shot accurately the triggers are awful on the XDM (better than the XD), but the XDM Comp is a lot better.

Anybody have a different experiences?
Dry firing the XDm is no worse for the gun than dry firing a Glock or M&P. The firing pin retaining pin can be damaged after thousands of dry fires if you do not use a snap cap, but with a snap cap, change it every 5k trigger pulls and you'll be fine.

I shoot an XDm 9 4.5" for USPSA Production. I've got a Springer Precision trigger job, 16lb recoil spring with a stainless guide rod, and warren Tactical fiber optic front/u-notch rear. Hands down, better (for me) than the other three pistols I tried in competition.
