    Default Road Rage

If someone at a dead stop cut you off while traveling 40mph and nearly caused a pile up, most of you would honk correct?

If after that honk the guy get out of your way and proceeds to follow you while throwing stuff at your car, would you draw on him if he was in the process of getting out of his car to come fight you at a red light?

Just asking to see what an appropriate response would be since I didn't have a gun in my car(only a knife) and my cell phone slid onto the floor when I had to test my brakes(they work really well btw)

Since I couldn't get to the phone I eventually just ran the red light to get away from the nutbag once there was an opening in traffic or I'm sure I would've had to deal with him until I made it to the police station to pick up my ccw permit.

Simular scenario for me a few years ago. I unholsterd and sat my 1911 in my lap as he came to window. I was blocked in on all sides at a traffic light. I rolled the window down about 2 inches and told him to go back to his car.
He talked some bullshit and when I put my hand on the 1911 and began to get a solid grasp and start to raise he backed off and went back to his vehicle.

My wife was on with 911 at the same time and I talked with an investigating officer as I had the tag ID and solid description of the scumbag. The officer told me
I would have been in my rights to fire on him if he had attempted to gain entry. That kid was lucky I have more self control then many others.

If you can leave the scene safely... do so.

    Be safe.

I had a similar situation happen recently, guy pulled out of a neighborhood side street in front of me and into the left lane (120th ave). I had to slam on my brakes to avoid an accident, also had my wife and newborn baby in the car. The natural thing to do was honk (maybe he wasn't aware he just about caused an accident), I didn't make any crude or obscene gestures. Well the driver of the car (some ghetto thug outside of his hood), proceeds to throw his hands up, roll his windowsl down, and try to get me to "fight" him at every light. He never actually got out of the car so I just continued to ignore him, I was packing but certainly didn't want any issues with the family in tow. I believe it just goes back to entitlement and disrespect, he was "entitled" to drive however he wanted, even if it put my family in danger, and when I made him aware of it, he felt "disrespected". It just furthers my lack of confidence in society.

If he gets out of his vehicle I would stay in mine and just run him over.

A buddy of mine had a bum that wouldn't leave the window of his car... he did when my buddies glock came out lol..

anyway, Ive been in situations like that too.. I actually think that if any of us are ever involved in a self defense situation, that road rage might be the leading cause... people get crazy out there.

Had something similar to this happen to me a while back and it ended up turning very ugly before all was said and done....

cstone's advice is right on point - if you can get out of there safely do it, but you may need to drive to a local PD or firehouse before they disengage....but if that's not possible or the POS is trying to run you off the road, then do what you need to do, especially if you have family with you...

Just be aware that if you feel the need to place rounds center-mass through vehicle glass, be prepared for some very uncomfortable conversations, regardless of the justification or criminal history of the POS in the other vehicle....

Last year while on my way to work I had some thug cut me off on I225 after he came down the ramp from Parker, went on the shoulder then cut one person off in the right lane and then me in the middle right lane. I had to slam the brakes as he had to stop because traffic in front of him came to a complete stop. I honked as he was cutting me off since I ended up only an inch or so from his rear bumper. He gets out of his car and walks to mine (while still on the highway) and makes a gun with his hand and flexes his thumb to indicate he wanted to shoot me while pounding on my windshield with his left hand and screaming. Once he noticed that my right hand not being on the wheel actually held a .357 magnum in my lap angled up at his chest, he turned and got back in his car. The driver to my right was on her phone looking scared as hell, guessing it was with 911.

So many countless times I honk at people for almost hitting me and they give me the one finger salute. Makes a lot of sense...
