We really ought to have runoff voting so people can vote for 3rd party candidates and not waste a vote. I bet if we had that system we would actually have 3rd party people representing us since more people could vote for them without fear of giving it away to the opposition.

Why? Vote like you mean it. If you know you're wasting a vote then don't do it. The voting booth is not a place to "make a statement" ... that's one of the ways we got in this situation to begin with.

She a registered "D" because when she got her license here back in 97 they signed her up in the motor-voter. So she was asked back then what party she belonged to. She had no idea so the clerk filled in "D".

I finally understand how Democrats become democrats. When your party is comprised of people who became members by default you can't expect too much. It FINALLY makes sense!
