Default Glock block: Pistol-packing Oregon neighborhood fights crime wave

    Good for them!

Good on them, more communities should start such programs.

I think it is a great idea, as long as they get lots of training. They may just find themselves sitting next to zimmerman. Non lethal might be the way to go, petty crime does not usually warrant death.

If it wasn't sandwiched between Lib/commie CA and WA it might be the ideal neighborhood to live in...

... and what's wrong with that? It didn't turn to gunplay until little Trayvon was beating Zimmerman's head against the ground. I remember a study the Washington Post (no conservative rag) did during the Clinton administration to figure out why the crime rate was so different between Virginia and Maryland/DC. IIRC, about 2/3 of the criminals from Maryland/DC interviewed said they avoided Virginia because "they'll shoot your ass over there". "Tazorhood" just doesn't have the same cachet as "Glock block" (and I don't even like Glocks).

You don't bring a tazer to a gun fight. Training is an important part of owning / carrying a gun. Hopefully their attorney has been involved from day 1.

This. If anyone hasn't noticed those who protect their neighborhood are no longer seen as good guys in the eyes of the law. I used to watch my neighborhood like a hawk. Now I watch my house and nothing more.

If they are saying it is petty crime then a gun should not have been involved, adding a gun to the mix means it is no longer a petty crime.

I some how doubt you could get away with shooting someone over them taking a statue from your porch.
