Too bad. From what I've seen of his support for the troops, was a pretty decent guy.

I've heard this as well. All indications are that, for an actor, he was a man of strong faith and great character. Hollywood needs more like him.

Gandolfini was traveling in Italy on vacation when he fell ill; conflicting reports have him suffering either a heart attack or a stroke.

He was a great actor and brought a lot of enjoyment to a lot of people. A good legacy for his family.

Agree with the posts that it's unfortunately not shocking given his weight etc., but was looking forward to seeing him play an older gangster type down the road as well, think Marlon Brando, but his style....
