    Default Scout Ranch Fire

We have a fire down south now, at the base of the Spanish Peaks. It sounds like they have evacuated the boy scout ranch. Hoser, we may need you tomorrow. That fire is in heavy timber. I have hunted the area and there is a lot of fuel in there.

We have a second home down there. And after talking to neighbors it's about five miles from our house. We're on 35 acres that are heavily wooded with pinion and cedar and have $500K invested in it. I'm sure the fire would move faster than the time it would take use to drive down there and remove valuables (35' fith wheel, tractor, guns, furniture clothing, tools. fishing gear etc.). Major bummer here!!

It is on the north side of the east peak. They are saying around 300 acres this morning. There have been several evacuations, including some boy scouts who had to be airlifted out. Mods, they are calling it the East Peak fire now, if you would like to change the name of the thread.

Over 9000 acres, up from 350 this morning. I hope this thing gets put out before it hits Kansas.

Are you sure you are not talking about the West Fork fire west of Alamosa?
