    Default Pueblo Tactical Rifle

Steel Core/jacket ammo is NOT allowed. Leave it at home. If a magnet sticks to it, it is a no-go. The **ONLY** exception is the annual AK vs AR match in Sept but no M885A1 at all in any way shape or form. Do not bring it. Steel cased ammo is fine anytime.

Here is what is planned for the Pueblo Rifle Matches from now on. Some minor changes, lots of the same. All below info is current as of OCT 2024.

I am the MD (again) and Steve and Greg are the Assistant Match Directors. Charlene is keeping all of us from doing stupid things. All these people have all stepped up to help us out and make the matches happen. Without these guys, Oct 2008 would have been the last Pueblo Rifle Match. The IPSC club is still the main club at the range. Like my match staff, without Brandyn the IPSC MD, it could not and would not happen. Please be sure to say thanks to all of them.

In a nutshell the three stage format of Long Range, Medium Range and Eddies Standards or V-TAC Standards will be shot. Open, Tactical, Limited and He-Man are the divisions.

    $20 match fee.

Sign up in advance via PractiScore at https://practiscore.com/clubs/hosers-steel

Fourth Sundays, March thru Oct. 9:00 and 12:00 matches. 27 shooter max per match.

    Pueblo West Sportsmans Assn
    600 East Loma Drive
    Pueblo West CO 81007

The gate code to get in the range is not published. Contact me via PM ahead of time to get the gate code.

We start setting things up around 7:00, shooters meeting around 8:45 and we start shooting no later than 9:00. Please arrive no later than 8:30. If you are not there by 8:30 to get signed in and squadded, we reserve the right to give away your slot.

We will have a second match that starts at 12:00 with a 11:45 shooters meeting. Be there no later than 11:30 to get signed in and squadded.

You can only shoot one of the two matches. Do NOT sign up for both. If there is an open slot left the day before, then and only then can you sign up for both matches. The goal of splitting the match into two was to get more people out there shooting and not fewer people shooting twice.

We can always use help with set-up. We can not and will not do it alone.

Round counts will be no more than 30-ish per stage. Total minimum round count should not exceed 100. The shooting will still be hard, so bring extra ammo. Most bring 200 rounds and take plenty home.

Divisions are Limited, Tactical, He-man and Open.

Limited. Iron sights or a non magnified dot. No bipod.

    Tactical. One scope. No bipod.

He-Man. Any Tactical or Limited rifle in 308 or 30-06. No bipod.

Open. Multiple scopes and Bi-pods allowed. Anything goes pretty much.

Steel Core ammo is NOT allowed. Leave it at home. If a magnet sticks to it, it is a no-go. The **ONLY** exception is the annual AK vs AR match in Oct.

Eddies standards will still be 75 seconds, fixed time, on reactive steel targets. 5 shots prone at 200 yards. 5 shots other than prone (kneel, sit, squat) at 175 yards. 5 shots standing at 150 yards. The fourth string (150 yards) will be all three positions with mandatory reloads between each, just like now. However slings, bi-pods, mono-podding, ect are allowed in sitting and prone. Standing is still done the old fashioned way.

V-TAC Standards will be a VTAC Wall or two and a single steel target at 150-ish yards. Your time per string is totaled and added up. Misses add to your total time.

The medium range stage will be on the Silhouette Berm with the longest shot being about 220 yards. Most shots will be 150-175 yards. Plan on an occasional Texas Star or Dueling Tree.

The 300 yard berm will be used for the long range stage. It will have more shooting positions but fewer targets downrange. This will hopefully make things easier on the spotters, RO and the shooter.

The Oct match is the annual AK vs AR match. This match is the ONLY match where steel core bullets are allowed. All other matches, it is specifically not allowed. If a magnet sticks to the bullet, leave it at home.

Every once in a while there may be a bolt gun side match or a rimfire side match.

Most of us have known each other for a long time and are friends. We tend to have fun and joke around while not shooting. If you are a delicate type and are easily offended by playful banter between friends, be warned... Slack is on the next berm, and you can not get there from here.

Greg, Steve, Charlene and I are open to suggestions. After all, it is your match. You pay the match fee. We just set it up.

Lastly, thanks to Eddie, Vicki, Jeff and Tom for keeping it going these past years.

    See you there.
