    Default Blue Future for CO?

I've got land in CO, near Trinidad, and plan to move there in the next year or two, but I'm a bit concerned about the way that this last election went. Is CO becoming more liberal? I couldn't help but notice that the state went to obama and that the senate seat went to Udall.

I know that Denver has some screwy gun laws, but I want to make sure that the rest of the state isn't turning liberal, or that Denver isn't getting so powerful that they'll turn the state liberal much like Chicago has with Illinois. I'd hate to leave TN only to find that they're turning into a liberal state and suddenly my stuff is illegal, and that includes class 3 stuff as well.

Anyone that want's to comment on this I'd love to hear it. I'm especially concerned about losing things like sound suppressors, magazines, and of course my beloved AR-15s.

I hate to say it, but I think CO is turning more and more blue. Over the last few years, we've had a large influx of Californians, and they seem to have brought their politics here with them.

Are they mostly staying in Denver or branching out to the more rural areas? This doesn't sound like a good thing.

+1 Sad but true. Even the small towns on the plains are turning blue thanks to the influx of illegals with fake IDs that vote. I never thought I'd see Demoncraps running Weld County.

    Hey Para-

I will say this about CO: Having lived in TN for a number of years myself, CO has WAY better CCW laws than TN...far fewer restrictions on where you can carry. TN is right to carry in name only. Ginsue made a good point that there have been several attempts at changing some of the gun laws here, there has not been much actual change. Kinda surprising since we have a Dumbocrap state legislature, and the governor is so far to the left, he's about to fall off the cliff.

Its pretty nice here as far as the second amendment goes. We have a good right to carry and NO Evil Black Rifle ban (outside of Denver{but shouldn't have one at all since the state has preemption}) So we need as many progun people as we can here. It just takes some Sabar rattling sometimes.

I hate to say it, but the political climate isn't a direct result of Californians. This has been a trend for awhile across the entire US. CA was invaded by the east coast libs a few decades ago as evident by their past elections and it's just now catching up with the interior of the US. Anyone who thinks enough Californians moved into this state to turn an election is just delusional. You don't need to look further than your own neighbors to see who the libs and dems are, and that's just the sad reality of it.

Anyone who spends any amount of time in arfcom GD would be led to believe that CA has invaded and taken over 49 states and obviously that's just an absurd notion. It's just the nature of large cities and the way politics are run.

Kind of along the same lines...

My wife and I have been talking about buying some land now, with the intention of retiring to it in ~30yrs.

We've been talking about Salida (CO), but lately I'm starting to wonder if we'd be better-off in Idaho, Montana or even Texas?

I blame the media. They have the biggest influence over people and they shape public opinion. The liberal thought can be spread as easily as common sense if left unchecked. Smart but nieve minds are the best to infect with liberal ideas. I am guessing that is why so many liberals are college teachers.

With enough mis information spreading around you can get people to believe just about anything.
