I spend a lot of time in Salida. I grew up here and left for several years and now I'm back at least in the county. Salida is getting weird. I still really like the town and the surrounding area but some of the people here are off their rockers.

Most of it confined to down town. Chaffee county did stay red in the last election but only by something like 1% of the vote.

We have 2 gun shops here, a great public range and of course the mountains. It is getting crowded over here but nothing like the Springs or even Grand Junction. If I had a choice and in about 9 years I will, when the last kid is gone we are going to move to Montana or Idaho.
