I hunt just outside of South Fork...to the West of Del Norte. I've been monitoring this all day. They were saying the chances of saving South Fork from completely burning were "slim" until a few hours ago. Apparently, cloud cover & a wind change are offering some hope for South Fork.

ETA: pic taken from Main Street in Monte Vista (East of Del Norte..looking West). this afternoon. Looks like a nuke went off.

Those are my stomping grounds Thomas loved there all my life until 2005 my mom had to get a escort out of the creede ranger office when she finished her dispatch shift.
You sir, are a specialist in the art of discovering a welcoming outcome of a particular situation....not a mechanic.

My feedback add 11-12 ish before the great servpocaylpse of 2012

WOW - Sad to see this happening in another part of our "Colorful Colorado" -- I'm pretty worthless to help anybody/would impede the pros, but have sympathy for those affected.

Long overdue in many places/nature's cycles; REGARDLESS, best wishes for all in front of these "hell on earth" moments. I heard a few hard-heads were "staying" in South Fork and pray they change their minds... You can't outrun that if caught, nor shelter in place w/ 2500+ deg F heat. More predictable, but pretty much like an F-5 tornado that nothing will likely survive... The Herklotz's just made that mistake in BF and by all accounts were helping neighbors.

Seems CO is just ripe to burn/renew as nature sometimes dictates... God Speed to all in the path; everybody else be safe/aware as we're going to be "RED FLAG" for a while and I stand ready to help if possible.

(ETA: This mess has brought tears to my eyes... Hayman sucked, but this mess really sucks.)
