    Default 10/22 Mod Help

    All,

While I can't find any of the really good pics that initially drew my interest, I'm looking to mod my 10/22 to have a nice tactical look.

I've looked online and keep getting the same results - "Tactical Solutions" barrels. NOT what I'm wanting. I'm looking for a new barrel and stock. I may even choose to have a bullpup stock for it at a later time (so, it would be great if the barrel would work for that application too), but not right now.

I'd like the barrel to have a FS/comp similar to the one in the pic below (heat shield not required)

Not really sure what I'm looking for in a stock (The stock in the pic above is okay, but is a faux-folder and the overall impression of the rifle doesn't scream "tactical" to me.

I'd love to see pics from anyone that has mod'ed their 10/22 and would love to get ideas from anyone who can point me in the right direction for what I'm after.

    Thanks

stay away from the Bullpup stock set-up. I had one and it sucked big time, if it was meant to fire with the tiger in front of the receiver ruger would have made it that way IMO

The new Axiom stock looks nice, they are having a hard time getting them out though

I have a Rhinland Arms personally, they were limited in production. A guy on RFC is selling one for the low price of $600.

Daniel - thanks for the heads up - I believe that I'll be taking that advice!

Newracer - Awesome pics. I especially like the Rhinland Arms setup but $600 is WAY outside my price range right now (barely keeping my wife from kicking me out of the house after telling her I'm going to buy a GSG5, Colt Govt 1911, and 2-9mm's (probably Baretta's - one each for my kids) withing the next few months.

take your wood stock. rework the channel to accept a .920 (heavy bbl) butler creek, hogue or other $125-175.00 bbl. paint the stock flat black. Or shoot some duplicolor bedliner on it.
If you want tacticol bbl with threads (1/2x28) so you can slam a f/hider on it, or later a suppressor. go to hi-desert dog and buy one of his factory takeoff threaded bbls. you can buy them with or w/out sights, for under $200.00
you can do a decent trigger job (again) rimfirecentral.com on the cheap.
buy a set of tech sites to give it that ar'ish look, then buy 5-10k worth of ammo and shoot it.

Here is my 10/22. Tapco stock, John mason flash hider, and a truglo 2x red dot. cost me about 135 bucks total on the refurb, but the red dot was used. The flash hider was from Brownels. be carefull and read the reviews on the "slide on" flash hiders. Very few work well. This one had the best user reviews and so far has worked very well for me. I love the collapsable stock. The adjustable stock makes it fun for everyone to shoot. The red dot in the scout position works awesome.

RB Precision is another nice one.

$190 and you have to supply the butt stock and the forearm.

Like already said tons of info on RFC. There are examples onthere of people totally reworking the wooden stock to accept a pistol grip and collaspable stock too.
