I have felt all along that Martin did not like being challenged by Zimmerman and thought it was being "disrespectful" to him so he threw a punch that got George's nose. Then things escalated from that point. The young MAN could have responded with some diplomacy and courtesy and merely headed back home after answering politely why he was in the area....... This is just one OLD guy's worthless uncalled for thought.![]()

My point is that dismissing someone as a threat simply based on age can be a very dangerous and possibly fatal assumption.
In your post your said
And then followed it withI never said a 17 year old couldn't beat other people to death in a fight, just that they couldn't beat me to death in a fight, based on the fact that they'd have to get on top of me to do it, and I have 20 years of training and results indicating that it isn't anything for me to be worried about.
Officer Molina was, based on news stories (I know, I know), sucker punched hard enough that he didn't(couldn't?) protect his head when he was taken to the ground. The impact on the ground knocked him senseless enough that he was beaten to death....by a 17 year old.If someone knocked me out before I felt threatened for my life, which I acknowledge anyone could do, what difference would it make if it were you, me, if you were carrying or not, or what your position was on this issue?
I love earned confidence (even bordering on arrogance). Most of the guys I work with exhibit the same trait. That kind of confidence mostly comes from having been through enough that you have intimate knowledge of how you're going to react, body and mind, to a similar situation.
Blowing off an unknown factor as someone that "isn't anything to be worried about" based on your level of training is arrogance bordering on ignorance. Murphy is always a factor.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST STATEMENTS MADE THAT IS BEING COMPLETELY IGNORED, NOW AND THEN.
The prosecutions start witness Ms Jentel said that creepy ass cracka was used by trademark in reference to Z following him AND also used as T hinted / Jentel interpreted it to mean T thought Z was Gay , hence being followed.
As for a 17 yr old being a threat or not. Perhaps a few of you would like to tag along as we ride the subway around NY, OR Chi-town. Take a stroll through parts of Fresno, Norlins, Inner harbor area of BMO. Until you come in contact with a serious threat, you have no idea.

I have no doubt some areas i would venture in to would have a few of the "tougher" board members soiling their pants. Myself i have nor ever had any issues riding the subway's in NY. You look like a victim, you become a victim. You look weak, like the injured gazelle or zebra, you become food for the predator.

I rode the subway in Chicago from the far North side to the loop for years and never experienced any trouble. Of course my wife was usually along for backup and since this was years ago, I'd probably not do it now.
I used to think that carrying a little Stihl chain saw with a 10-inch blade in a leather holster would perhaps keep the perps with their switchblades away from us while using the "L"........ Never had the occasion to go that route.![]()
