In Zimmys case he probably could have avoided the entire situation by observing and reporting and walking away.
Which according to testimony is what he did, only to have Martin step out from behind a bush and escalate the situation. At that point avoidance is not an option.
If testimonies are true I feel Zimmerman exhibited reasonable restraint of employing his weapon until he was on his back with somebody bigger, younger and stronger than him curb bouncing his head.
Avoidance was not an option at that point as well.
None of us really know what happened but there are times when one can take reasonable means to avoid problems but sometimes problems come to you. Then you cannot avoid the shit.
The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...

Non-blacks should just remain securely in their homes. Should they need to travel, they should drive with the windows up and doors locked while passing through the safari to avoid danger. The same mindset in The Virginia Pilot beatings - If you stop at an intersection to obey traffic laws, and if your car is attacked with bricks, stay inside keep the doors locked and drive away quickly.
