Not that I have any first hand experience, but I was planning on getting some Ameriglo Pro Operator in yellow rear and green front, then I heard about the Spartan Tactical Ameriglo sights (3 dot style). They have the day-glo orange front with green tritium and either green or yellow rear tritium. I've read nothing but good things for the day-glo orange front sight, that it really helps with target acquisition.

Also, that the typical i-dot/straight-8 style of sights is great for fast target acquisition on a lateral basis, but not that great for altitude, in that, it's easier to hit a human (taller than wider) with the i-dot/straight-8's than it is with a 3-dot configuration. However, the altitude shot placement isn't the best with the i-dot/straight-8 style.

Since you are planning to check out some other options, I'll post a pic of my suggestions (apologize for shoddy pic, but you will get the idea).

The first to pics are the three dot Ameriglo sights I had on my G26, these had the day glow orange front with black/tritium rear.

The second pic is of my current G19, I got the single tritium rear because Bowers was out of the double, and I actually like the single more. You should only be focused on your front sight anyway, and the bright orange front sight up against the black rear REALLY stands out, and the single tritium offers little distraction, as you shouldn't be paying attention to it during the day.

I have a set of TruGlo's on my Glock 23 and they are awesome. They are the ones without the tritium in them and they still work great. Not bright in low-light but in the daytime they are 3x as bright as my Trijicon sights were.

Talk to Rob at bowers about his thoughts on the Big dot. I ended up going with some Warren Tactical sights from him. Really like them.
