Back when I was in college, I was the sort that confronted instructors on this sort of thing and all it does is egg them on and allow them a platform to further push their thoughts on the class. The thing they want more than anything is for someone to disagree with them and argue the point. Ignore the statement, it irritates them more than any alternative action.
