Think about this: The big Vestas turbines have a blade radius of 120 meters (372 feet in 'merican) and turn about 23 rpm at max speed. Doing the math, that means the blade tip speed is around 890 feet per second, or just a tick over 600 mph. Now wonder the birds are getting splattered...
I think the largest Vestas blade is half the length you state here, or 126meters in diameter. So the blade tip speed will also be closer to half or 340mph. I may be wrong though.
