22 Conversions?

Whats everybodies opinion on the 22 conversions out there? Not that I need another toy but couldn't hurt!

I have a tacsol dedicated upper and it is awesome I have run 22 conversions from cmmg as well and only have the occasional ftf or fte and stove pipe they definitely prefer a certain kind of ammo that varies per conversion

What ever you decide make sure they mags are compatible with other uppers / conversions. The cmmg, ceiner, spikes sig 522 etc. from BDM are the best .

While the S&W M&P 15-22 gets nice reviews their mags like Colts are specific to that firearm.

I've had ceiner, cmmg. Common mags are important like Jim said.

Keep them clean and well lubed, experiment with different ammo types to find what's reliable for yours.

A dedicated upper is better in my opinion, so you aren't gumming up the gas system of your .223 upper.

Among conversions, I think the very best is a stainless CMMG Evolution conversion, with the locking collar, and a Redi-mag Better-Mag adapter to use S&W 15-22 magazines with it. Manual of arms will be identical to your centerfire rifle, including functional and correct bolt hold-open, usable forward assist, and no-tools takedown.

You'll need a 1:12 barrel or dedicated 1:16 22lr barrel to get best accuracy from it, but it's fine for training and 25-50yd plinking from a 1:7 through 1:9 barrel.

I bought a core AR-15 dedicated .22lr upper. Only one I could find back in Feb at machinegun tours. I did some research on it came with one black dog mag 25rd one thing I like the bolt is nickel boron easy to clean. Runs very quite with my suppressor. One thing I noticed is it needs a rounded hammer the rock river single stage that is cut locks up the bolt carrier from riding home. Very pleased with the upper cost was around 479.99 or 500 with tax. Runs Cci standard velocity all day long.

I might have one in the spare parts bin. I run 9 & 22 sbr's and use round ones only.

thanks Jim, I'm good at the moment just something I noticed when I tried it on one of my other lowers I plan to switch it with one of my two stage triggers or when I can upgrade my competition service rifle with a geissele two stage service trigger I will swap them out. Currently it's on a Psa lower that I got as a gift back in dec with the correct hammer.
