I'm still hoping to get in a ride or two before the trails get too snowbound, but the next two weekends are for elk hunting.

This is sad. I see comments like "too old, "too broken down", and "too cheap" regarding snowboarding and all I was thinking (about myself) was that I am "All of the above".

Well my 62 year old legs are still good for 4 or 5 runs down the ski slope before turning to toast.

Nowadays we head up around 1000, get there by 1130, do our skiing and start heading home by 2:00. I can remember days when we begrudged not being in line when the lifts started up in the morning and timed things so we were on the last chair going up the mountain before they closed. Times change.

right now, the only thing keeping me off the slopes is the weather.

too cold (<30&#176 is just not that much fun anymore, especially when you factor in windchill.

still waiting to make a call on going this weekend.

eta: knees are why I took up snowboarding
(although I have messed myself up pretty good on the snowboard (ribs), I'm still glad I've given up skiing, I know my knees would be really messed up then. Snowboarding is much easier on them, the only "worry" really for snowboarding is out of shape legs will be readlily apparent after a few runs)
