    Default .300 Remington vs. WSM

Don't want to sound like a "tard" but the new Remington 700 LTR comes in a .308 and .300 Remington, basically a short mag. Question: is the new .300 Remington Short mag and the Winchester Short mag interchangable? or do they have different shell casings, but similar ballistics?

The 300 remington short mag is based off the 300 ultra mag. The 300 winchester short mag is based off the 300 winchester magnum. The 300 ultra mag has quite a bit more thump than the 300 win mag. The short magnums however are basically identical ballistically but yes they are very different cartridges.

Not sure if that is correct. I've compared the ballistics on both the .300 Rem and WSM, there both nearly identical to the .300 win mag.

Not sure what part of what I said you think is incorrect yes the 300 rem short mag, 300 WSM and the 300 win mag are basically the same ballistically.

The rem 300 ultra mag has way more thump. I am pushing a 180 grn swift scirocco at 3330 fps try to get that out of the other three.
