So count me in on this juice bandwagon because I've been sitting around not getting proper exercise for the last couple of months while a leg injury heals, so this would be as good of a time as any to modify my diet for a while. Loaded a weight tracking app on the phone and will start tomorrow.

Thanks Jer and others for getting the ball rolling and tracking progress with advice...

Next thing you know we'll need an buyer's intel thread on which stores still have juice in stock... (for those of us not yet accomplished self-juicers yet)

And the secret word for today is - Tabasco Sauce! Just whipped up some tomatoes, celery, carrots and a red bell pepper, was OK but "needed something". Tablespoon of Red Tabasco fixed it right up.

I really wanted that ten pounds today and there's no way I'm going to hit the numbers that Jer has hit but that's alright because I'm still making progress.

A couple of factors yesterday; I only juiced twice and had to have a Naked juice while I was down in Denver. I think the lack of juicing slowed me down. I'll get back on it today. I'd like to keep a pound to pound and a half per day rate going.
I know how you feel man. I wanted to hit a goal but this weekend and came up a couple of ticks short as well. On top of that I weighed in exactly the same this morning as I did yesterday morning... I lost no weight. This is baffling to me especially considering that yesterday was mowing day and between our yard and our neighbor's yard it's a couple hours of exercise. So how is it I can lead a mostly sedentary lifestyle 6 days a week and lose about a pound and a half on average and then the one day I do exercise I break even? My working theory is that my body chose to retain more water than usual given the workout. If this theory holds true (like the last time I took in sodium unknowingly) I should see a weight tomorrow morning nearly double what it generally is. Either way, barring another break even 24hr period I should break into the 260's which is awesome for me. I appreciate the comment about the #'s I've hit but I honestly don't know the secret. I just drink juice and lots of water and the weight just seems to melt off. If I could think of some sort of tip to suggest for better results I would certainly throw it out there. You getting plenty of water? I know that as your body burns the fat it needs to be hydrated even more so than usual so maybe try a few days of drinking more water just to see but make sure you weight yourself before drinking water in the morning, after you pee. That's what I've been doing to get the most accurate weights.

Wow! Nice work man! Surprised to see such good #'s with a modified version of the diet because everything that I've read says you need to go 100% into it or you may actually gain weight depending on how your body reacts. You're one of the lucky ones I guess. lol Out of curiosity, how old are you? If you don't want to answer that's fine since it's kind of a personal question. Since we're all talking about BM's and weights I figured we're all close. lol

Go for it. Worst case scenario Walmart has a very generous return policy so long as you hold onto the receipt. They're pretty good the only downside is the time it takes to juice and clean-up. That part sucks. Seems it's pretty much the same across the board in that category though.

I've also come to the conclusion that my Jack Lalanne juicer from Goodwill is a piece of shit, even though it's all there and in good shape. Does OK with fruit and some things, but it can't handle kale and celery worth a hoot. Gotta make it do for now.

And the cleanup isn't much fun either. But we trudge on.
I had the 2nd mow day since I started and this one went MUCH better than the first one. I made a point of drinking lots of juice right when I woke up followed by about an hour of hydrating and then took a big glass of ice water to drink while I worked. I used the propelled feature (our lawns have quite the slopes in this neighborhood) of the mower a lot more than I normally do and let it do more of the work. I took my time and while I did feel a little bit out breath but nothing like the last time. That was a good feeling to know that I can continue to do the things that I do while on this diet. Just juice up and take your time.

Clean-up sucks. Big time. I find myself not juicing sometimes just because of this unfortunately. I grab a store-bought bottle instead.

Sure thing man! Glad airing this out publicly helped to get others to get more serious about getting healthy too. I didn't intend for that but sure am glad it's worked out that way and glad I can share whatever things I've managed to learn over the last few weeks and my experiences. Make sure you're posting updates and any info you can add to the conversation.

Jalapeno, Serrano & Habanero peppers are good options too. That's how spicy they are too in order FYI. I've put serrano peppers in a few of the concoctions I've made and they do a real good job. Just add them slowly because I was under the impression they weren't very spicy... until I put one more in. lol Wowzers. Not sure what the sodium level is of Tobassco and I know it doesn't take much for flavor but that's also something that you need to take into consideration. I'm super sensitive to what I put in my juices after that fiasco I went through last week.

The wife had a friend over for dinner, I had to grill 6 boneless pork chops and 4 boneless country style ribs w/BBQ sauce. There was corn on the cob, taters, and caeser salad too. Damn, it all looked good!

I had a liter of water. Man.....

I'm pretty sure it's a lack of water. My water intake is crap on the weekends and great during the week.

It's hard to drink a lot of water. Is for me anyway. You know what fish do in that stuff? Gives me the willies.

Good job man! That must have been hard but you just have to keep the goal in mind. It will all be worth it in the end.

That's probably it man. You need to be hydrated for your body to be able to process the fat. If you're not getting enough water you'll not only not burn as much fat as you could but you get dehydrated quicker too. If you start throwing up & feeling like shit it'll put a real damper on the diet.

Did a "soup" diet to get into the Marine Corps. Lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks, then felt like shit at the beginning of boot camp.
