Juiceing diets are great but I wouldn't leave out lean complete proteins, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats or complex carbs all together.

you can leave them out for a short time. i wouldn't do it any longer than 3-4 weeks though. after that you just need to modify the diet appropriately.

I did the juice diet for a month and a half, the first month of which was completely juice... I lost 53 lbs, and it stayed off for a very long time, almost a year without gaining a pound. Those who think it is unhealthy, don't have their information correct. I was more healthy by a long shot while juicing. As long as you have fat on ya to take care of your energy needs, you will be perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, juicing is so damn good at healing people, that the government made it illegal for a medical doctor to prescribe it to you as a treatment. If you need a juicer, I have an extra "Jack Lalans" or whatever in the hell it's called that you can have. We got one from Walmart that has worked like a charm, and cost $70 (works a hell of a lot better than the $250 Jack whatever one). Juicing provides your body with absolutely everything your body needs to work, and then some, except the calories, which if you have extra weight, your body provides. There have been numerous studies and tests done on this, and if you do it right, you will be far more healthy. My wife and I originally did this because she was seeking a cure for her chronic hives (moms a doctor that tried everything and nothing worked for a year and a half), she found the movie "Fat Sick & Nearly Dead", and we decided to go for it for her sake. A week into it, she had no hives, and hasn't for almost a year. It also got rid of her heart palpitations. She did the diet for three weeks hard core, and continued with 50/50 with salads for another month, and still juices every now and then for the hell of it. I had skin cancer, now I don't. My uncle had colon cancer, now he doesn't. I can go on and on of just my family in the last year that this has helped. In doing this though, you will encounter those that have no clue as to what they're talking about, and will run their mouth's though, just wade through the crap, and you will be fine... If you have any questions, just PM me.

Now, I wouldn't spout any of this out, if I haven't done it, and seen what "juicing" can actually do with my own eyes. Also, as a disclaimer, I'm not a vegetarian by any means (the wife is now though), Taco Bell is my favorite place in the world! K.......

For those of you that want more info, you can watch a decent movie on it called Fat Sick & Nearly Dead.
You can also watch a movie called "The Gerson Miracle" that is long, and full of information, but really boring... Here: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/gerson-miracle/
Cool post. I used to have a juicer. Wish I still did. I used to juice 5 carrots and 5 sprigs of parsley in the morning. If you were closer I would take you up on your juicer. BTW that was my natural energy drink.

FWIW Atkins over 10 weeks took off 40lbs for me. Now I just eat less overall and try to maintain where I am.

www.rebootwithjoe.com is the website for the guy's juice recipes. he used the same juicer i have in the movie--hooked up to a power source in his car. i draw inspiration from that fat trucker that lost all the weight in the movie and measured it in bowling balls. now, on a hike or bike riding, i just consider i'm not carrying two bowling balls with me.

I will honestly say, it changed everything for the better. I just wish I could have held out on it.... I love food though, and ended up not juicing much. There have been many people, thousands that have gone on a complete fast for several months, and were never healthier. Body fat contains fat soluble vitamins, and nutrients. What it doesn't contain is water soluble vitamins, such as vitamins C, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, tryptophan, biotin, and folic acid. All of which you get from the veggies though. Now, vitamin B12 is harder to get. For that, you should put some spirulina in your juice. With this, your metabolism will speed up like you were an all star track and field athlete. Your body fat has everything but the protein that you need to build, and restore damaged muscles. If you are doing rigorous activities, you would want to supplement bee pollen into your diet. Pollen is the most soluble protein source you body can have, period. You will get more protein from one teaspoon of pollen, than a 20 oz steak. The steak has a lot more protein in it, but, your body has a hard time breaking the tissue down.

If you're going to do this, do it right . . . get a juicer. Until then, at least use a blender for smoothies . . . Bolthouse Farms is a mediocre product, it's not bad, but you don't want to try living off it. Like spyder said, bee pollen is a great supplement, and whey or egg protein powder can work too. Egg beaters and vegetable soup can be added to your diet as well as juice.

Can you do this juice diet with meat being the only other food you eat? Or does that ruin the point of the diet? I get shaky if I don't have protein.
