Keep the updates coming. They're great. I could see a difference in your face from that terminator pic. Just a thought: the wife uses a "fitbit" which tracks her steps. She shoots for a daily goal and just tries to make that goal each day, then gets really excited when she beats it. Even if you start eating again, that's not bad. Your results are great and you helped others take the first step. Do you have a dog? Maybe take him for a walk twice a day. Or go for a walk after dinner every night. Every little bit helps. I'm not saying start running or pumping iron at the gym, but an increase in activity will boost your metabolism and that will help your body want to burn more. Got a friend nearby who likes guns? Go for a walk every day and talk about shooting or something else. All the talking will keep your mind off the fact that you're going for a walk. My .02.

PS - I started drinking two glasses of bolthouse juice every day.

Thanks for the tips man. I've got two little dogs and I plan to walk them even more but the problem becomes in a couple of months when the temps drop down. Our dogs are Italian Greyhounds so they don't have any fat or hair to keep them warm. Anything below about 70 deg outside to them is cold so needless to say they don't go outside at all about 4 or 5 months out of the year. But I get what you're saying and I will do my best to work in exercise whenever possible. I'm happy that this was the motivating factor for me to start getting healthier and I'm glad that my ranting out loud convinced others to take steps too. If more people took that first step we'd be healthier as a nation. Along those lines I will probably still update from time to time and will remain somewhat active to help others who have questions or concerns that I may know the answer to.

Or even just raw veggies. I can't tell how good eating a whole raw carrot was today. Those are changes that I'm hoping are long term as they'll make eating healthy much easier. Time will tell I suppose.

This is something my friends and I talked about... Your body can't stop doing what it does, I.E. it just can't stop using calories. He'd be dead at that point... So, either he's actually gaining something to equal the balance of the fat loss, or he's putting something in, that is stopping the loss. This fast, makes your body more efficient (hence why it was originally come up with to battle terminal diseases, with an amazingly high cure factor). I never plateaued. My friends never did either. I will have to check, but I'm sure one got to over 65lbs in a couple months. Now, and I can't say that I have tested it, or know of someone who has either, but if your body is in this hyper healthy mode, wouldn't you build muscle faster, and easier? I know that the fast let my body take care of an injury of mine that "supposedly" needed surgery to fix. So, what else could this do?

On my next go around, I'm going to try to test this. I'm going to workout, and see what happens on the weeks that I do it, and the weeks that I don't.

Also, no doctor can legally prescribe this fast, it's illegal for them to do so says the FDA. They can do variations of it, but no the actual fast. < I'm posting that last part because I've now heard back from the doctors that I have asked, that weren't related to me. So, if none have prescribed it the correct way, how can they say anything about it? BS

Yeah man! Keep it up. I've been doing the "low carb" thing for a year and a half and it kicks ass (down 50 lbs.). I don't even crave that shit much anymore. When I do eat a carb heavy meal, I feel like total shit.

    Anyway, keep going bro!

To say I'm frustrated by today's weigh-in would be an understatement. Especially considering I gained 0.2lbs yesterday. This made me decide to take a look at my progress that I've been tracking and I've lost only 3.0lbs this calendar week. A far cry from the pace I was on when I started which was over 10lbs per week. While I accepted the fact that this pace wouldn't continue I didn't expect it to drop off to nearly nothing. I mean, less than a half a pound per day is hardly worth denying myself food for and I'm relatively sure that introducing healthy foods in reasonable portions could attain this progress and plus I would be more able to work in exercise here and there as time presents itself. In short, I'm 10 days short of the 30 day mark and am considering breaking the fast. I may wait a few more days to see what happens but I'm not confident I'll just snap back to where I was or even close to it. I had hoped to lose around a pound per day based on the research I did and what other people in a similar situation lost. I started off really strong and since then things have really fizzled for me. I mean at this pace I would lose about ten pounds next month... hardly worth the effort. The last time this was frustrating and I wasn't going to overreact but I really haven't seen too much since then so this is indicating more of a trend than a temporary anomaly. I tried days of nothing but veggie juicing and that didn't help. I tried days of just fruit juicing and that didn't help. I tried upping my water intake and that didn't seem to help either. I'm at a loss and am currently considering if I'm going to see this through the full 60 days, cut it to 30 days or just kill it now. I don't want to give up but if I'm not getting anywhere near the progress I had expected I don't necessarily feel like I'm giving up. It has been a week after all. I just don't know at this point.
I think these kinds of blips will happen in any kind of diet or exercise routine and if you had stuck it out a bit your progress would have continued. On the other hand, a) a juice only diet for 2 months doesn't make much sense to me (hence why I don't plan to do it more than 2 weeks max) and b) you've accomplished a lot in a short time -- 23.4 lbs isn't chump change --and it's a good start for both your body and mind in terms of getting some progress and positive reinforcement that it can be done. So I don't hold it against you for wanting to get some solid food down at this point, especially as a juice-only diet isn't the only way to accomplish your goal. It sounds like part of your goal was to reset your brain and body for your eating habits in general and looks like you reached that point, so as long as you don't suddenly reverse course into the old habits, you will still be making good progress, albeit maybe not as fast as before. Good work and keep at it.

So here's where I'm at on the 7th day:

    Starting weight: 243.6
    Current weight: 234.4
    Total weight lost: 9.2

I'm not sure how this little juice fast will play out this week. I still have a few days worth of juice so I may try to run with it through next Sunday. However, I may have to travel for work this week and I'm not going to stress about finding juice if that's the case.

Thanks man. I feel like I fell short of the 60lb goal but I was going to fall short of that goal on the fast anyway so while it's bitter sweet I have to try to focus on what I did accomplish.
