    Default Used Engine/Transmission oil

I have hit a milestone at my shop. Yesterday I finally filled a 55 gallon drum of used engine and some transmission oil up.

Question for the diesel guys, any of you who are running used engine oil in your trucks want it? I need the drum but if you have a place to store it you can swing by and grab it and bring me back my drum. Otherwise I am just going to have it taken by one of the oil reclamation companies.

Before the new diesel guys ask, I would not run it in anything new enough to have common rail fuel lines. 7.3, older 24 and 12 valve cummins and I don't know about the duramax timeline on when it is good to go.

Come on down. I have a buggered arm at the moment so I can only offer some help getting it in your truck.

Is used engine oil something folks readily want? I usually accumulate 5 or 6 gallons before i take it to the recycler. is that enough to be worthwhile for anyone?

You can run up to 80% waste oil to 20% diesel fuel in the older cummins and powerstrokes. It smokes a bit and you can't do it during winter because it will gel but it will work just fine. I have a buddy who runs a shop out of his house and that is what he does with his used engine and trans oil. He keeps his powerstroke at about 50/50 which is where I will run it once I pick up another diesel truck. Cut my fuel costs in half.

You can also run 10-15% gas and get no smoke. If you use that mix and a modded fuel system you can start down below 0.
