Only if you want to. We set up the course of fire and shoot it to verify that our zero has not shifted. Some times a participant may choose to set up a paper target at 50 or 100 yds to make sure the rifle is grouping correctly but, for the most part, shooters set their zero prior to the day of the match.
Cysoto runs a nice friendly match. Get there early to help set up and you'll have plenty of time get your rifle zeroed and some dope for the targets. I find that the wind and temps have changed enough from morning to afternoon that getting to-the-.1mil dope level for the last long (200 yards) isn't as important. Plus, people are more than willing to help with spotting.
The bad news is my 11yr old son has improved significantly from when he placed 4th the last time we came out... Looking forward to this coming weekend.
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
nice. I am expecting to be humbled but who knows... I just settled on some Eley edge which Eley in general has been hard to come by lately so I just wanna make sure I have a solid zero.
Tomorrow's .22LR Steel Dogs match at CRC is on. Setup will take place at 7:30am, after which we will sight in the rifles and the match itself will begin at 9am. There is a chance of rain for Byers but that is not until after 3:00pm (we plan on being done with our match much earlier than this).
Wish we could have been there. Had soccer game re-schedule due to all the snow and bad weather.

was a little windy and cold but made for great shooting. Cy is the man and puts on a great, smooth match
Well, it looks like it will go from cold and windy to hot for the one on Sunday? We are still on, right?

Yes indeed. I just sent out the match call email.

Shooters,
This coming Sunday's .22LR Steel Dogs Match is a 'GO'.
As always, setup starts at 7:30am, sight-in is from 8:00am to 8:50am and the match itself starts at 9:00am.
It's going to be a hot day and, even though we have that cool new cover over the shooting area, you may still want to make certain that you bring along plenty of water, sunblock and, just in case, insect repellent.
I hope to see you there,
Cy
Sorry Gang but Mother Nature has spoken and she does not wants us to have a Steel Dogs match this coming Saturday.
I'm sure the weather for the June match is going to be much better than this weekend's. See you all then!
