    Default Colorado Springs Gun shops

I will be spending Mon-Thur down in the Springs for the next month or two. Are there any must see gun shops in the area (good selection or just nice guys)?

I may have some time in the evenings to check out the local attractions if there are any recommendations.

    Thanks,
    Brian

I enjoy going to Shootin' Den. One of the employees (Laura) and I were friends back when I was stationed in IL. The owner died on Dec 18th and his estate is in probate so the continued status of the store is up in the air. Aside from the guns, they have lots of reloading stuff (and other things - even an archery counter) that the other stores mentioned always seem to be out of.

Take the Fillmore exit off of I-25, go East (that's AWAY from the mountains for those who are geographically limited) about 2 blocks. It's in a corner strip mall on the left (North) side of Fillmore.

As far as the post for Specialty Sports: Usually a very good selection of firearms and accessories, but their prices are hit-or-miss and sometimes the employees can get downright nasty. They usually have pallets of bulk ammo at decent (not great) prices though, so... It's definitely a place to drop into during your visit. I know the address was listed, but to simplify finding the place, they are located at the intersection of Murray & Fountain Blvd about 3 blocks East of Academy Blvd. To access their parking lot, you need to turn South onto Murray as there isn't a turn off directly from Fountain

Wow, Specialty Sports has a website???

Oh, never mind, looks like there website needs a LOT of work. Good shell of a site so far though.

I agree with theGinsue's assessment of Specialty.

Ginsue's on the money about Specialty-I've stopped in a few times when in the Springs and prices too high and employee's know it all's until their info questioned then downright rude. Just my .02

Of course, Sportsman's Warehouse has a website too, but all you'll find there is their weekly sale flyer. The word is that the new owners are supposed to turn it into a shoppable site. We'll see!

the one thing I can say about Specialty is the used prices are great. cheaper than what most people sell there guns for in the classifieds. I go in there at least once a week to check out the used case.

    Brian,
If you have time, you should DEFINITELY check out Dragon Arms! (click on the Gun Store link in the lower right :P)

If you're there on the right day, you might even get a chance to do the Museum Tour (I can tell you the their collection is amazing, to say the very least!).
