The final piece of MDOP news: with less than 22 months left to go before Windows XP end-of-support, and strong application compatibility between Windows 7 and Windows 8, we will not invest in Windows 8 support for Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V). MED-V is an important part of MDOP and customers around the world, such as Applied Materialsand Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., are using MED-V to smooth their transition from Windows XP to Windows 7 – a more modern version of Windows. If MED-V is part of your Windows modernization plans, there’s no need to stop what you’re doing. MED-V remains supported on Windows 7.
