Ironically EMPing us back wouldn't take us back to the stone ages, just to the 1950s ... which might end up being just the thing we need to roll back the surveillance/police state and restoring liberty.

This makes sense to me on a gun forum. You do realize that had Zimmerman been convicted, his conviction would be the first shot and rallying cry for the movement to roll back CCW, Castle Doctrine and Stand your Ground laws. As for society in general, your point stands ... too much attention is paid to great spectacle and fury with little substance.
