I developed a serious disgust for the American media when I was working in Israel. Flipping through the US news channels and the international channels it became really obvious that we spend literally all of our time focused on completely inconsequential nonsense and ignore events that actually have international implications.

It's hard to say for certain how much effect an EMP will have when there is so little publicly available and well documented research out there.
