    www.duckduckgo.com

Some great info and links about tracking
It's a search engine that doesn't compile your info, etc.

The only concern I have is how do you know they are not tracking/coilecting info on you. What better way for Big Brother to track you than by setting up a search engine and saying it's safe to surf "anonymously".

I downloaded this myself yesterday after reading this post. Love it. It's amazing going to a site and seeing 15 things trying to track you. The only one I don't have a problem with is Google Analytics. If I was running a website, a few statistics about how many people are on at what time and what they're looking at for my own personal use, so I know what to update/upgrade is fine by me. But having Doubleclick and all those other companies tracking you for ads and god knows what else blocked is nice to know.

Use open source software. Lots of software has a "backdoor" for the government to watch you through, but if it's open source, users and developers would notice a "backdoor" immediately. Bonus: most open source software is free or very cheap.
