Default Any Luck Selling on Armslist lately?

Seeing as how the classifieds here for firearms have all but died since the new law took affect I am curious if anyone is having any luck on Armslist?

That's what I was worried about. Might have to start using Gun broker for all private party deals.

I might just let my LGS do consignment deals for me. I think there will be a jump in consignment sales. Though that means you make considerably less. 1) If the LGS has a BNIB gun, or the same gun used on consignment, you have to be a good bit cheaper to make someone want to buy it. They are already there, and have to jump through the same hoops. 2) You lose the commission paid to the LGS.

Similar on Gun Broker though, you pay their commission and listing fees. And you still have to fight much harder to be a lot cheaper than brand new. They already have to drive to the shop, why wait (and pay) for shipping, then do the BG check, etc when you can skip half the process and buy new.

Unfortunately, all of or guns just took a huge hit on true cash value from resale.

How much do they charge? Giving up 10% or so (seems that's a pretty common percentage??) to avoid a time-consuming PITA, doesn't really seem too bad.

I've never sold on Armslist, and honestly was always hesitant to do so even pre-July 2013. I've always felt that I'd rather sell to a fellow member on here or a friend/family member, directly.... now I can't even do that without paying a third party $35+ to cover their fee and the new state tax per bgc. It's such a waste. I really don't think I'm ever going to sell another gun as long as I live, unless I'm plum broke. I'll just keep what I have, and buy another one here or there when the money and the mood strikes, but (until these laws are repealed) past are the days when I'd buy/sell/trade with others in order to better experience a new firearm firsthand. You can't just completely disassemble and learn the internals of a rental gun, customize the grips and sites, triggers, etc... without being able to recoup my money, that is just simply no longer an option.

no luck lately. I think the draw was the private transaction which made it seem anonymous even though it was far from such.

had luck on here selling my incoming ar kits and uppers...probably since I sold them at cost and there isn't a BGC required.

Sad thing about it all is that we're doing exactly what they wanted: stop the 'flow' of firearms being sold/transferred, and "drying up" the supply!

My friend has had continued success in selling off his military rifles: M1 Garands, M1A1, M14, etc., through Armslist. But then again, most of his sales have been to out of state buyers so he's going through the FFL anyway...
