Only in Death does Duty end
For the $75 you need to spend you could drive down to 10mm take the spouse to lunch, drive home and still have a few $$ in your pocket

New ownership doesn't even seem to know what's going on. This is the actually the primary reason I don't shop there anymore. Under previous ownership I wasn't charged for transfers. I never abused this and was always ready to pay and they never charged me. This was good because I spent tens of thousands of dollars there and brought TONS of new shooters in who also spent money. Shortly after the new ownership took over I had purchased three stripped receivers sent to them for the transfer. Needless to say I was a bit surprised when the new girl up front presented me with a ticket for $75 AFTER I had waited nearly 4hrs for a transfer. I'm not mad at them that CBI took longer but what I was mad at was her continuing to tell other people who came in after me that CBI was on a 45min wait when I had already been there waiting for hours. That's just poor customer service to not realize you've got people waiting for hours and you're still quoting people 45min. Shocked they wanted $75 for a transfer and assuming it was because she was new I asked a girl that was with her up there that knew me by name and had for years. She said that they were on a computer system now so they couldn't do them for free anymore. She said that they would do it this one time but for future reference I would be charged and then went on to explain how $75 for three lowers on the same background and piece of paper was somehow a good deal. I don't enjoy being lied to. I didn't look very far to find someone who would charge me less for up to 5 items on the same transfer. Thinking I would keep that in mind I was getting ready to leave when she said I still owed $25. What happened to doing it one more time for free since I didn't know? I paid the $25 and refuse to shop there anymore. That situation was handled VERY poorly and I now know where I stand with them as a customer. They don't value my business so I no longer go out of my way to put up with their bullshit to keep my money local. I can think of few places that would the owner and a manager all yelling at me while I was handing over $10k in cash on a single transaction but that's Jensen Arms for you!

It used to be 75 for a single transfer, and that was never a problem for me because they had good prices on other things that I would need at the same time. But they were always a little wishy washy about multiple transfers. Some would say it needed to be $150 for two in order to waive the transfer fee, some people would say $100 and others just the $75 was enough to waive the transfer fee for up to three transfers. But now that CBI charges $10 per transfer it has to have changed. I would be interested to know what their new policy is.
And just a point of clarification for Jer's post, the new owner is a pretty good guy and really wants to improve customer satisfaction. He seems to still be feeling the gun industry out and trying to get new products in all the time, but is a little lacking on setting policy and making it known to employees and customers. But just a short talk with him if he happens to be in there and he will be very open about what he has to accomplish and will try to make your request or concern happen if he can. This is just my experience talking to the guy and knowing other employees there well. It can be a little frustrating getting different answers from different people, but just be polite and offer solutions or suggestions and they will at least thoughtfully consider them if not help you out.
I had talked to him and in fact I was going to give him one of my reverse engineered and hacked Toyota Navigation map discs for free. A disc I normally get $100 for and since he was a fellow Toyota truck owner I had planned to hook him up for free and was going to bring it in. Everyone else there knows both my wife and I by name (as well as our dogs) and took very good care of us. In fact, I used to be the one defending Jensen Arms to all those who had negative things to say about their customer service even though I could see exactly why they were upset because I saw how they treated people. I understand the $10 fee and what not but this was all WELL before that. Not sure what policy he changed or who he told but the SAME employees that wouldn't take my money for a transfer were now very insistent on me not getting out of there without (over) paying for a transfer that day even when I brought it up. I haven't been back since.
$75 for a SINGLE transfer is highway robbery. $150 for two or three?!? Wow! Look around people, plenty of options around this area for $20 or $25 per transaction and most will do up to 5 or more on that same transaction. They're more now due to the $10 and other various fees that were added but it's only going to be that base price plus the new fees. It really feels like Jensen Arms is adding in additional fees in there that were never introduced.

$75 is an embarrassment. I believe they keep getting their NFA and regular transfer fees mixed. Even then. everyone i know , even bear arms charges $50 TOPS to transfer NFA items.

I don't know about transfers there, but I am far more satisfied with the new regime than the old. Everyone I know hated the place for years because of the attitude from the top down. That said, the girls up front are not always very informed about their policies or the law. If you have any concerns then I would go talk to John the owner. I have found him to be a reasonable and friendly guy.
