    I saw that, -1.1M in like 14 years or so... Why do you think that is? Oh yeah, because they created a hostile work environment there so businesses left, therefore so did the employees. Didn't help that unions aren't cheap, and pretty much ran everything in that city. Couldn't agree more that the Detroit City Gov thinks their citizens are just a meal ticket and funding for their liberal pet projects.

    Same here- I figured it was only a matter "when" not "if" with Detroit. Anyone care to place bets on who's next? I got $1 on Chicago or Baltimore.

    The 1.1M took 60 years, not 14, but they managed to lose about a million in the 40 years between 1967 and 2007. After the 1967 riots, white flight accelerated by a factor of about 3, over decline rates prior to that, with peak loss rates of over 60000 per year in the late 60s.
