Retaking my CPR class next week for work and it for me thinking a little, any of you guys had to give somebody CPR?
But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.

In ten years never had to, always carry a couple disposable masks on me just in case. Came close one time, extended seizure past 5 minutes called 911 and then the person stopped breathing about ready to start CPR when EMTs showed up and took over before we even started.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"

Only when I worked in the hospital many, many years ago... First aid? Yep. But no CPR outside of the 'hospital years'.

More than once yeah. In the elderly, if you are doing it right, you will more than likely break ribs, which is a little freaky the first time. Never done mouth to mask, I have always been able to use a bag valve mask (BVM). If you provide respirations a too hard and too fast you push air into the belly, which will lead to vomiting. This is not only disgusting but can lead to further airway problems if not taken care of.

There are two songs to keep in your mind to keep you compression rate up - Staying Alive and Another Bites The Dust, make sure you hum the right one while doing CPR in front of family members.

Just remember CPR is only a technique that works well with Advanced Life Support, Defibrillation, and Medication. Most people do not survive with CPR alone. It can work though and that is the important thing, there was a case in Minnesota where people did CPR for like an hour or some crazy shit before the ambulance and helicopter arrived and ALS was started, the guy survived.

I do it on a fairly regular basis. If you haven't taken it for a while, it has changed quite a bit. Be ready for a lot of compressions with very little breathing.
