Default "Must see" while at Fort Wainwright?

Have quite a few recommendations of activities and such, just wondering if any here have things to add that might be entertaining for the duration?

Badger, I spent right at two years at Ladd AFB, now known as Fort Wainwright but that was about 56 years ago. Back then, the taverns were about the only entertainment but they had shootings and stabbings in them on a very regular basis and most were "OFF LIMITS". Guys would be out in the boonies for months at a time and really blow off steam when they got back into town for the first weekend. Not much of a "must see" but more of a "must do", but if I were back there now, I'd sure give gold panning an honest try since you have plenty daylight to hit the streams. There are plenty nuggets around, just have to know where to pan and make certain the location is NOT on someone's land who gets pissed if you take HIS gold. Here's to ya

Yeah, I would definitely be looking for gold, with a metal detector of course!
