God Made A Hot Dog
(Sorry...I just liked the other thread so much I thought I'd plagiarize the title.)
And He made today National Hot Dog Day. I forgot who inspired me to mark the calendar (Irving?). But it's today. Going to Sonic later for one of their trashed-out dogs.

Chicago dog at sonic is delicious!

Vienna Beef hot dog (natural casing- Nathan's has a pretty good substitute)
in a Steamed poppyseed bun (from S. Rosen's- but I can't find poppyseed buns out here... )
Top with
- yellow mustard
- bright green relish
- fresh chopped onions
- juicy red tomato wedges
- a kosher-style pickle spear
- a couple of spicy sport peppers
- a dash of celery salt
OK...NOW I made myself hungry!!!

For the 4th of July, I threw an EPIC hot dog cookout at my house. I had the buffet set up with all the hot dogs and buns, and then all the toppings to go crazy, a la Steve's Snappin Dogs. We had Chicago dogs, Slaw dogs, Chili Dogs, Green Chili Dogs, BBQ Bacon Dogs, NY Dogs with Red Sauce, Nacho Dogs, Beany-Weenies, etc. What ever you could imagine, we had it. It was a lot of fun, and so easy to just keep hitting the buffet all day long.

Hot Dog cart at Lowe's in Louisville makes a real Chicago dog. Sells the sport peppers and relish also!!!
