Default They are getting ready to take care of you! Operation ‘Vigilant Guard’ begins in Colorado

Wonder what that sign on I25 meant about national guard movements on the roadway= Operation ‘Vigilant Guard’ begins in Colorado http://beforeitsnews.com/alternative...e-2719038.html DENVER – The Colorado National Guard will be conducting large-scale, multi-agency emergency exercises in Colorado Springs and the Denver metro area this week. The “Vigilant Guard” exercise started Monday morning in Colorado Springs. It focused on coordinating agencies to handle domestic emergencies and disasters.
The entire week’s exercise scenarios are based on a wildland fire burning into an urban area, and will also involve severe weather including tornadoes.
Participants will practice storm damage assessment, hazmat identification, abatement and decontamination, search and rescue, patient extraction, triage and other emergency-response measures, according to officials.
Monday’s exercises include a mock plane crash and a search and rescue mission hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy Fire Department, officials said.
“Patients” will receive simulated medical treatment from emergency responders. Then they will be transported to a mock hospital at Fort Carson.
Army National Guard helicopters and Fort Carson firefighters will also conduct water drop training operations at Fort Carson. The training will emphasize air-ground communications.
National Guard units from Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming will be participating.
You may see uniformed military members and Guardsmen wearing chemical protective equipment during the training.

Got a couple people at work who are part of that this week. One works at NORAD/NorthCom and the other is flight ops at Buckley. They have been planning this for about 3 years now and finally had the coordination between states and feds to get it going .

Pretty amusing how the article linked in the OP states in bold letters "Nuke and Terror" drills and "Helicopters Fly Over Interstate" but never mentions "nukes" or "terror" in the article. Is there supposed to be something sinister about this exercise that I'm missing?

And "Helicopters Fly Over Interstate"? How should a helicopter get past a highway if it doesn't fly over it?

Which is why I don't bother reading stuff from beforeitsnews. Their scare mongering is more strident than A-Jones.

And then we have a legitimate disaster/other event and the "government" is immediately found to be at fault for not being prepared.

Look...I'm no fan of government intrusion at all. I think that's pretty clear. But I also don't think every time the .gov holds an exercise planned years in advance that it's some sort of preparation for war against the citizenry. For crying out loud...there were thousands of uniformed military members in and around the streets of Biloxi, MS (and along a large portion of the Gulf coast) conducting rescue and cleanup operations after hurricane Andrew in 1979. I was one of them. We were just helping out...not practicing for any planned military occupation.

Furthermore, when I see sensationalized "reporting" such as the headline from the OP's article it's a turnoff regardless of which side it comes from. Shitty journalism can have lots of flavors. You don't need to look any further than Alex Jones.

The masters feel we need to get used to that. So, they keep increasing the frequency of the exercises. you cant drop a live frog into boiling water he would jump out. but you can put him in the pot and turn up the heat. If they cared about actually keeping us safe, they would close the borders, check every piece of cargo coming in to the US, throw out people overstaying Visas, and stop accepting people from countries known to be a threat to us.

But, if I am the only one who believes that, then just ignore my comment.
Aside from the quantity of countries I've been in, I'm right there with you HBAR.

I will say I trust the national guard much more than the NSA, if this were the nsa I would be worried. The national guard along with most military groups has sworn to uphold our constitution, not so much with the nsa f*ks

We've also never anticipated having to fight an invading army on our soil. Not so much for many European countries.

I always hide under my lead blanket when I hear the helicopters.
