Im not too worried about it. Mostly because Im not around. But having participated in drills like this before when I was AD, its good training. Escpecially when you think about all the shit that could go wrong in our state. With the exception of hurricanes we pretty much have every possible disaster waiting to happen. Training is good. It isn't something that can happen all the time. So whenever you can have it. its a good thing.

It's a very real possibility. I couldn't say one way or the other. I work just north of the base, so I hear the jets when they're taking off and when they're circling around to land. Can't see them from my office unfortunately.

Maybe growing up rural has built in some immunity. We had at least one NG convoy through town, and camped at the fairgrounds every summer I can remember as a kid.
Isn't it part of the military's duty to maintain a certain modicum of preparedness?

A lot of you guys sure spend a lot of time on the internet to be so paranoid of everything "the government" does.

For me? "The government" does plenty of REALLY SERIOUS crap that I'm worried about to keep me from worrying about signs announcing increased military vehicle traffic during a large disaster preparedness exercise.
