Default Any appliance repair guys here?

Is there anybody here that does in-home appliance repairs? Got a Maytag dryer that needs some attention. Still works fine, but has developed a squealing for a couple minutes when started. I could fix it, but it's too hard for me to get up and down off the floor that many times. Thought I'd ask here first. In Parker.

Mine did that too, the fix was easy though not real inexpensive. New drive motor cleared it right up. I replaced the belt and cleaned the heck out of it while I was in there.

Other than sourcing parts, it took about an hour to do. Good luck.

I've done 'em before too, but have had too many back and knee surgeries lately. Old and fat too.

No idea why the original post is in such small type.....damn phone.

Default Any appliance repair guys here?

I had to have an appliance guy come out and service my dryer recently. He installed a maintenance kit and charged me $230.

A few weeks after having it all done I went online and found out the kit is only $30. The guy was at my house for a total of 1 hour. Those appliance guys make some major $$ based on my labor calculations.

get someone to pull the rear of the dryer off relube the pivot point / bearing that sits in the center of the drum. There are also pads that go around the front of the drum to housing replace those too. Total time 1.5 hrs including removing from area to reinstall. Depending on model / year that might be different.

I replaced the stupid hard plastic wheels (that break every other year) on our dryer with skateboard wheels and precision bearings that I whittled down.
    That was eight years ago....
