Default "The Gun Lobby Takes Vengeful Aim" (New York Times Op/Ed re: Morse Recall)

This op/ed piece in the New York Times regarding the Senator John Morse recall effort illustrates how the anti-gun and anti-2A movement is hoping to win, by characterizing the recall effort(s) as driven by the "gun lobby". This mischaracterization of the recall efforts, that were initiated and driven foward by ordinary citizens, demonstrates their disdain for gun owners and the continuing need for the Second Amendment.

In my mind, the fact that the NYT was compelled to defend John Morse proves that the germ of gun control was in large part a partisan effort pushed by out-of-state urban liberals who wish to impose their political sensibilities upon Colorado.

    These recalls must succeed!

And, let's hope the Republicans can put up a decent candidate to oppose Hickenlooper in 2014.

They all can suck a mile worth of dicks. The "gun lobby" is the only group that represents us. Since Morse encourages his party not to listen to their constituents.

By the way the ads on radio for both of them keep telling us that is YOU people in Denver that are responsible for this. Funny, I did not know that District 11 went that far north. They also like to tell us how much that they have done for the children.

According to the law, the candidate fighting the recall (Morse/Giron) can accept as much money as they want from any 1 individual (Bloomberg/MAIG) whereas the folks running against them can only accept up to $200 per person willing to donate.

I nearly vomit every time I hear one of these ads, and I've all but given up listening to the main country stations in the Springs because of it.

Who are they hoping to convince? As I recall a sizable percentage of the signatures were from registered Dems. I hope BFDF is getting enough help with the continuing education campaign they are doing!

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.

I have never seen so much horse hockey in one place, except maybe the US Senate and House.
