Default is this a good idea?

i remembered hearing that putting pepsi on your car battery would remove corrosion. i was curious if it would do the same for my old mil surp bullets. so i tryed it and it worked, they look like new. so is this a good idea to do, or do you guys think that this could cause problems for my gun?

Generally speaking if you have to ask if something is a good idea it isn't

that being said, you need to some how remove the remaining residue from the cola.

well after i took it out, i rinsed it and dried it.

i mean i dont think it would cause any problems. im just wondering if being in an acid like pepsi would weaken the primer or something and possibly cause slam fires.

has anyone heard of using this to clean old bullets?

    I personally wouldn't do it.
and I would also avoid anything with amonia in it.

how much are we talking about here? (rounds)

and what exactly needs to be cleaned up?

Introducing anything like soda in the primer area or case mouth area would worry me about contamination or deadening the primer or powder.

What would be wrong with using some steel wool?

For the most part, Military rounds do have a sealent on them to protect them from moisture.. That said, chances are if it has corrosion on it,, The sealent isn't quite as effective as it once was..

well they not really corroded, i guess you would say tarnished,

does it make a difference on accuracy or anything if you use clean or tarnished rounds?

Tarnished or not they will still shoot MOC. (Minute of Communist)
